Zapier
Zapier is an automation platform that connects thousands of apps, enabling users to automate workflows without writing code.
Prerequisites
Requirement | Description |
---|---|
Extole Account | An Extole account is required to use this integration. |
Zapier Account | A paid Zapier account is required to set up workflow automations. |
Extole API Key | Create an Extole API key in the Security Center of your Extole Dashboard > New Access Token. |
Extole Events API | The endpoint Extole uses to receive events from Zapier: https://api.extole.io/v5/events |
Use Cases
This integration allows you to send events from any applications you have connected to Zapier (eCommerce, billing, CRM, etc.) to Extole's Events API. These events can be used to trigger actions within the Extole platform, such as rewarding customers for completing certain actions, sending promotional or triggered email notifications, or tracking specific customer actions for analytics.
Integration Steps
Connect to Your Extole Account
Extole’s Events API requires authentication via a token for any requests you send via Zapier. You can generate your token in the Security Center of your Extole account by clicking + New Access Token and following the prompts. Make sure to save your Access Token in a safe place, as you won't be able to access it beyond this point.
Set up your Zapier Actions
To set up your Zap action, complete the following steps.

- Copy the webhook URL from the "Test Trigger" section and add it to the application connected to Zapier from which you want to send events to Extole.
- Create a new “Webhooks by Zapier” action in your Zap and select POST as the type of API call you’d like to make.
- Under “Choose app & event,” paste in the Extole Events API URL
https://api.extole.io/v5/events
in the URL field and insert the topic data item from the available fields. - Choose the payload type JSON.
Select No for the option to Wrap Request.
Select Yes for the option to Unflatten. - Leave the fields for Data, File, and Basic Auth blank.
- Under Headers, type Authorization in the first field and Bearer in the second field followed by the access token you generated in your My Extole account.
- Make sure to save your new action.
